Coated with silver, the dechlorinating/sterilizing filter candle reduces fungus, bacteria and other harmful microorganisms and chemicals present in the water. The micro-pores of the ceramic filter wall filter the impurities, resulting in crystalline water.
The activated charcoal present in the filtering element guarantees efficiency in the elimination of bad odors, taste and chlorine present in the water. Water is purified up to the rate of approximately a quarter of a gallon (one liter) per hour per filter/candle.
The purified water may have a slight clay taste for up to 21 days. This is not harmful and occurs simply because the terracotta is very dry and unglazed. Emptying the purifier and completely refilling it each day during this initial period will ensure this taste disappears.
Stefani Replacement Filter Candle
Simple in design and easy to maintain, the Stefani replacement candle filter features activated carbon, which eliminates bad odors and improves the taste of the water. The ceramic candle filter can last 4 to 6 months depending on usage and local water quality standards. Stefani Ceramic Water Filters and Purifier Candles can be used for All Terracotta, Ceramic and Stainless Steel Gravity Fed Water Purifiers. The Stefani Water Purifier Candle and Replacement Filter Candle can fit many ceramic crocks with filters and drinking water dispensers.
Sterilaqua 3-stage Purification System
1. Ceramic Membrane Filtration - The microporous ceramic membrane is capable of filtering out microorganisms, dirt, rust, algae and other suspended solids.
2. Strerilizing - The water passess through the colloidal silver coated in the inner chamber which sterilizes the water and eliminates bacteria.
